Welcome to the 2021 juried Alexandria Photography + Media student show.

Our annual juried exhibit traditionally hangs in the AFA gallery each Spring. Any student enrolled in a PHT class at Alexandria during the past year may each enter up to four works, which are selected by an outside juror who also chooses certain students to receive cash awards in recognition of their overall achievement.

During the pandemic, the exhibit has been a virtual event. This year 36 students submitted 134 digital files, from which the juror selected 22 pieces by 17 students for an online exhibit, presented here.

We wish to thank all our students who submitted work to the show this year. You may see each piece, including still and motion imagery, in the thumbnails on the Submitted Works page.

We also wish to thank our juror this year, Antonio McAfee. He is a photographer and artist whose research-based work in mixed media has been exhibited in various museums. He is the recipient of multiple grants, and is an instructor at American University. See his bio below for details and links to his work.
