Juror's Statement
"I'm very honored to have juried the NOVA Alexandria Photo + Media Student Show this year. I started my journey as a photographer here at NOVA, and I'm thrilled that I could see all the new work that students have produced. It was nostalgic for me because I fell in love with photography here. I was reminded of how much fun it is to explore the world through a lens. The images I picked are compelling, well thought out, and original. I can get a sense of the thought behind the photographs and how the ideas have evolved through the series of work. This decision was not easy and so I picked 5 photographers to be awarded with special recognition. I felt like each one of them pushed themselves through concept, technical skills, and editing which are key factors in producing a strong, cohesive body of work."
